WordPress 4.6 “Pepper”

WordPress started in 2003 with a single bit of code to enhance the typography of everyday writing and with fewer users than you can count on your fingers and toes. Since then it has grown to be the largest self-hosted blogging tool in the world, used on millions of sites and seen by tens of millions of people every day.

Everything you see here, from the documentation to the code itself, was created by and for the community. WordPress is an Open Source project, which means there are hundreds of people all over the world working on it. (More than most commercial platforms.) It also means you are free to use it for anything from your recipe site to a Fortune 500 web site without paying anyone a license fee and a number of other important freedoms.

As with all of us, there just isn’t time for us to do all things, all the time. But, as WordPress is, by far, one of the easiest open-source content management system (CMS) around, its what I picked when asked to create a website for my customers. And, even better, it’s FREE. It also integrates all of your Social Media apps easily, into its existing structure. It’s almost “drop and drag” functionality, makes creating sites an easy task, while you concentrate on form, style and structure.

So, although my clients had no interest in creating their own site, they would like to be able to make changes and add additional objects without incurring an update fee from me. So I’ve created this page with Tips & Tricks to make life easier for my clients and whoever may be interested in WordPress. Please note that I’ve BLATANTLY ripped (credit will be shown, I am not completely shameless) this information from other sites who already have info on a particular subject. Come back often as the information will change but I will keep an archive on previous lessons/info that have been posted.

Note: If you have a “How-To” question, please send a message from our Contact Page and we will attempt to find the information you require.
